The opportunity involves leading a team dedicated to the advancement of current chemical matter into drug candidates for treatment of cancer.Responsibilities:The full-time position will contribute directly to our portfolio of existing hit identification, hit-to lead and lead optimization programs by working with the medicinal chemistry team to identify drug candidates for preclinical assessment. The successful candidate will take a leadership role in driving the development of program goals and strategies, planning of resource allocations, coordination of synthetic chemistry efforts, oversight of program advancement and preparing/presenting scientific reports/presentations- internally or externally as needed. Additional responsibilities include contributing to the identification and establishment of partnering strategies to leverage external knowledge and capabilities, and maintaining an awareness of current developments in the fields of medicinal chemistry and drug discovery.Specific responsibilities will include:?Analysis of diverse data sets to build structure-activity relationships ?Design, synthesize, purify and characterize drug candidates in target validation, hit-to-lead and lead optimization projectsQualifications:?PhD in the field of synthetic or medicinal chemistry with more than 5 years of experience working in small-molecule drug discovery teams in a pharma or biotech setting, candidate with more than 10-years-experience is preferred.?Strong understanding of all aspects of modern drug discovery including H2L and LO strategies, ADME/PK principles, pharmacology, computational chemistry, IP strategy etc, with a demonstrated track record of success in the application of these techniques to drug discovery programs.?Experience working with/managing CRO-based synthetic chemistry teams, preferred.?Experience with program leadership, or working closely with program leaders, preferred.?Previous experience working on covalent inhibitors is a plus.?Ability to independently solve problems, to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team.?Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.?Attention to detail, commitment to quality and a team-player mentality is a must.If you are interested to join the team, please contact Dr. Jinquan Sun at jinquan_sun@heliosbiotech.com. 职能类别： 医药技术研发管理人员
