Novo Nordisk Research Center China (NNRCC) is an integrated part of Novo Nordisk R&D organization. Novo Nordisk wants to conduct research activities in China and expand its network to the scientific community. For these purposes, a new position is open for a highly qualified and motivated scientist within molecular biology who plans to advance a career in China. E.coli research China (ERC) is an integrated part of Novo Nordisk R&D organization, focusing on protein expression and purification and process development from E.coli. Department of Protein Expression (PE) is one of the ERC departments for developing and providing the most advanced molecular biology expertise and technology platforms in protein expression, protein engineering, molecular design, strain manipulation & characterization with various approaches as well as physiology study. We are highly motivated and productive team with high standards for our deliveries into the projects and an increasing focus on flexible processes in our daily work. We work with state-of-the-art facilities, equipment and value a high team spirit, good communication and dynamic collaboration between both scientists and research associates The position You will be involved in cross-functional project teams with colleagues from many different scientific backgrounds in China, US and at our headquarters in Denmark. Participate in the research projects in collaboration with others. Normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instruction on new assignments. With supervising of the line manager or project manager, responsible for the design, execution, and implementation of a portion of a scientific research project(s) in collaboration with the research team.Proficient in technologies, laboratory techniques, and troubleshooting methods required for conducting daily and routine worksDeveloping capability to investigate the feasibility of adopting new equipment and technologies to research tasks at handYou will be reporting directly to the department manager and your main internal contacts will be scientist colleagues, technicians and project members and managers both in Beijing and in Denmark. You will be part of a team in a highly dynamic and challenging environment within NNRCC Your tasks will include, but not be limited to: Protein expression in microbial hostsDeveloping effective microbial host/vector systems using recombinant DNA technology.High throughput protein expression and phenotypical screeningAnalyze data from experiments, write summaries, and prepare presentationsContribute to projects in a diverse team environment by suggesting and implementing process improvements.Identifying and evaluating new technologies for protein expression/ Strain engineering et.alStrain characterization with HDC approach Qualifications You hold a M. Sc. Or B. Sc. in Molecular biology, biotechnology, biochemical engineering, microbiology or related discipline with additional academic or industrial training/experience. You must demonstrate strong experience in at least two of the following areas:Understanding of microbiology, and recombinant protein expression in microbial hostsHigh throughput applications on protein expression or phenotypical screening for protein engineering or host engineering.Strong track record on multiple gene manipulation for straining engineering and screeningTechnical background and direct hands-on experience with fermentation processesYou have an excellent track record of applied research You are responsible, motivated, flexible, and good at learning new technologies, result-oriented and a good team player.
