职位描述： About the department Novo Nordisk (NN) is one of the world’s leaders in diabetes care with a growing business in other treatment areas like obesity and hemophilia. NN employs approximately 42,000 people in 77 countries and markets its products in more than 165 countries. Novo Nordisk research centre in Beijing is established in 1999 and is the first research centre established by a foreign pharma in China. We are a fully integrated research unit of NN and has close cross-functional collaboration with NN headquarter in Denmark and other NN research centres. Our mission is to leverage our expertise in protein technology, pharmacology, and disease models to progress NN’s research pipeline within diabetes, obesity, and hemophilia. Discovery Biology China (DBC) is one of the research units in Novo Nordisk China R&D with focus on 1) being an integrated part of the global research engine to progress NN project pipeline in diabetes/obesity; 2) contributing to innovation with our strong pharmacology platform and target discovery and validation platform. The open position is in Biology and Bioanalysis department of DBC, with responsibilities described below. The position We are looking for a motivated, flexible, highly productive individual who is seeking a cross-functional collaborative research environment. A successful candidate is expected to exhibit a combination of molecular/in vitro biology experience, demonstrated scientific understanding of metabolic diseases, especially diabetes, obesity and/or cardiovascular diseases, and proven ability to acquire new knowledge and skills quickly. Responsibilities include: - Design and perform research in target discovery and validation - Screening assay development - Establish state-of-the art cell based assay to support protein therapeutics identification for diabetes/obesity - Propose, explore and implement relevant new technology in the field of molecular biology/in vitro biology - Supervise research associates - Present results to senior management and other research stuff - Scouting within diabetes/obesity/CVD for new project idea initiation and evaluation - May lead early stage drug discovery effort Qualifications - Ph.D. in biology or relevant areas with minimum 2-3 years of postdoctoral training experience - Proven record of productivity - Independent and innovative researcher - Must have demonstrated knowledge in the field of metabolic diseases (diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, etc.) - Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent in English, overseas experience preferred - Excellent team player and collaboration skills - Industrial experience preferred Working at Novo Nordisk You need to have good communication and collaboration skills as you will play a key role in representing your expertise area in global project teams and towards colleagues at the other research sites. You are flexible, open to new ideas, ambitious, innovative and result oriented. You have a lot of individual responsibility with a high degree of personal impact in the projects. You are able to meet deadlines and keep overview. Furthermore, you are fluent in English.
