Major Accountabilities
·Support a risk-based audit schedule with audits and assessments of established and potential third party suppliers/contractor manufacturers identified through interaction with Purchasing Managers of China Sourcing Office
·Provide formal reports and maintain records of all interventions and decisions to ensure information on third party suppliers/contract manufacturers is up-to-date.
·Undertake follow-up monitoring to assess progress of contractor manufacturers and suppliers (and in response to adverse events). Assist to manage and resolve any significant contract manufacturer or supplier EHS issues identified
·Advise management in approaches to improve HSE related performance as well as in reduction of risks, and initiate corresponding actions
·Assist China Sourcing office in supplier relationship management and corrective and preventative actions (CAPA) progress monitoring
·Where required, provide information, training and advice on EHS management systems and topics to contractors and suppliers. Support suppliers on a case by case basis to improve HSE and to achieve the business need
·Provide input into Procurement and External Supply processes for sourcing decisions and sourcing strategies.
·Liaise with Novartis Quality and Technical to ensure effective communication, information exchange, mutual support and appropriate use of resource
·Assist with the management of chemical registration issues under REACH, GHS, CLP, or other regional initiatives outside of the United States.
·Participate in other department EHS assignments as required, including self-development of EHS and leadership skills.
Ideal Background
Education (minimum/desirable):University degree preferentially in natural or technical sciences
Languages:Chinese and English fluent in speaking and writing;
Experience:Broad experience in HSE management, preferably Auditing, knowledge in risk or insurance management advantageous
Experience in chemical manufacturing, hazards management
