Lead the development of the Medical Strategy, and develop as well as implement the Medical Plan for assigned therapeutic area.
Develop and maintain up-to-date knowledge of the therapy areas by reviewing the literature, discussions with KOLs and key stakeholders, participating in cross functional interactions, attending scientific congresses, etc.
Provide overall strategic and operational input to internal cross-functional customers with therapeutic and product expertise to achieve company objectives.
Lead the management of PMS activities including local phase IV clinical trials, third party studies and animal/in vitro studies, IITs and relevant publications in the assigned therapeutic area.
Lead/work with MSL team to ensure optimal KOL development and support in accordance with the overall strategic brand plans, and maintain top KOL engagement and strong relationship with scientific associations jointly with other KOL-facing teams.
Create and deliver comprehensive Disease/Therapy/ Product presentations/training to MSL team or other internal and external customers.
Lead the medical events (e.g., advisory board meetings, investigator meetings, KOL meetings, CME, etc.) and present on behalf of CDMA when needed.
Review promotional materials and Regulatory documents for medical accuracy and compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations as required.
Support the development/revision and implementation of SOP as required.
Ensure all Medical activities are compliant with appropriate Alcon SOP’s, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and other industry guidelines.
Participate in personal development and training sessions.
Execute other duties as may be required by the CDMA Head and other medical leaders as training and experience allow.
Education: MD/PhD/Advanced Degree in Ophthalmology, or other equivalent medical or bio-scientific degree required. Languages: Proficiency in both oral and written Chinese plus English. Experience/Professional Requirement: Minimum of 3 years Medical Affairs working experience in multi-national pharmaceutical or medical device companies; · Solid knowledge of eye diseases and working experience in the ophthalmology area (academia, industry, practice), as well as previous people management experience is highly preferred; · Proven ability and experience of strategic thinking and project management; · Working knowledge of the Healthcare System and of the research procedures as well as the ICH guidelines, GCP, and other ethical guidelines. · Proven experience of designing and executing clinical trials, in particular in the post-market phase is preferred. · Broad knowledge of product development, clinical trial design, regulatory requirements, payer landscape, and life cycle management. · Excellent interpersonal communication, negotiation and advanced presentation skills. · Ability to effectively contribute and work in a complex matrix environment with good team work spirit and strong learning agility. · Ability to adapt, organize, prioritize, and work effectively even in a constantly changing environment.
