Typical Accountabilities:• Provides technical support to team members and other AstraZeneca engineers by using existing knowledge and experience and by seeking out information to resolve standard problems• Contributes to the development of processes for new and established compounds• Identifies future plant and technology requirements and carries out any required development work of specialist equipment• Accommodates new manufacturing processes to meet the site requirements and generate design data for process optimisation• Design commissions and evaluate plants, processes and new technologies• Provides a production support service to Operations manufacturing plants• Acts as project manager for some minor projects• Manages, coaches, technically mentors and develops staff within team and supervises contract staff• Shares technical knowledge and expertise with other personnel in AstraZeneca to aid technical developments within the organisationTypical People Management Responsibility (direct / indirect reports):• Approximate number of people managed in total (all levels) - 0What is the global remit? (how many countries will the role operate in?):• Own countryEducation, Qualifications, Skills and Experience:• Essential: Knowledge and understanding of process, design and operation; Experience in some of the following areas: new technology investigation, process development, capital project execution and sales product support; Understanding of the Operations function within a company and its contribution; Basic knowledge of procedures and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice & Safety, Health and Environment requirements• Desirable: Line management experience; Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering or related professional qualificationKey Relationship to reach solutions:• Internal (to AZ or team): Employees within own function; Global external sourcing; Functional Leader• External (to AZ): External regulatory bodies and auditors
